Additional Conditions
1. The primary use of the premises shall be as the Sheffield Hallam University and the primary use shall not be changed without the prior consent of the Licensing Authority. 2. In that part of the premises located on the 6th floor and known as The Howard Room, The Main Hall and Rollers Restaurant, intoxicating liquor shall not be sold or supplied otherwise than to: a. Persons attending any conference, seminar, lecture, film show or exhibition at any premises owned or operated by Sheffield Hallam University. b. Persons attending any private dinner, dance, party, reception or similar function on the premises. c. Employees of Sheffield Hallam University employed in connection with functions mentioned in a and b. d. Any persons employed by Sheffield Hallam University and their bona fide guests. e. Persons attending any concert, play or similar performance in the Main Hall. f. Persons employed at the Sheffield Science Park, Eyre Street, and their bona fide guests. g. Persons taking table meals at the premises and for consumption by such persons as an ancillary to their meal. h. On any occasion when intoxicating liquor is sold or supplied, total number of persons within the licensed area will not exceed 500. 3. In that part of the premises located on the second floor intoxicating liquor shall not be sold or supplied otherwise than to: a. Persons attending any conference, seminar, lecture, film show or exhibition at any premises owned or operated by Sheffield Hallam University. b. Persons attending any private dinner, dance, party, reception or similar function at the premises. c. Persons attending any concert, play or similar performance in the Main Hall. 4. There shall be no sale or supply of intoxicating liquor for consumption off the premises. 5. There shall be no applications for occasional licences other than: a. For premises which are occupied by Sheffield Hallam University (including Halls of Residence) and for functions of a nature described in condition 2(a) and 2(b). b. At other premises on occasions when food catering is provided by the Catering Department of Sheffield Hallam University and as an ancillary to such food. 6. The police are to have unrestricted access to the licensed premises throughout permitted hours. 7. When events involve provision of facilities for dancing an adequate area will be allocated for dancing. 8. To comply with the reasonable requirements of South Yorkshire Fire Service, South Yorkshire Police and the Health Protection Service (Health & Safety). 9. If any of the Responsible Authorities so request, no licensable activities shall be carried out within the areas to be altered until such time as the authorities have inspected and are satisfied that their requirements have been met. Any embedded permissions and restrictions attached to the justices on/off licence including those specified at Appendix 1. Specific conditions converted from the Public Entertainment Licence: 1. Capacity 1) The number of members of the public who may be present at any one time on the premises or in any part of such premises specified below shall not exceed: - Area Capacity Main Hall 300 Atrium (Level 2) 910 Atrium (Level 5) 200 (2) Where the Council is of the opinion that in order to avoid or reduce any disturbance of or annoyance to residents in the neighbourhood of the premises or the occurrence of disorderly conduct in the premises, it is desirable for the permitted hours specified in sub-paragraph (1) above to be varied, the Council may, after affording the licensee the opportunity of making representations to the Council, by notice served on the licensee vary the permitted hours and thereafter the hours specified in the notice shall apply in substitution for the hours specified in sub-paragraph (1) above. Other Special Conditions: 1. The capacity for the atrium must be managed in accordance with the plan provided by the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. The total capacity for the atrium area must not exceed 910 persons at any one time when both level 5 and level 2 are being used together for the provision of public entertainments. 2. Notice must be given to the Licensing General Section 28 days prior to any sporting event taking place and no sporting event can take place without this notice being given. 3. The area below the staircase on level 2 of the atrium must be screened to prevent any members of the public from walking below the staircase and thus reducing the possibility of members of the public banging their head on the staircase construction.
