Additional Conditions
1. There shall be no adult entertainment or services, activities, other entertainment or matters ancillary to the use of the premises that may give rise to concern in respect of children. 2. Staff to be aware of and guided by the South Yorkshire Police Violent Incident Protocol which will be prominently displayed in the bar area out of public view.
1. The designated premises supervisor shall be an active member of LicenceWatch and attend at least two forum meetings per year together with any local meetings. 2. All electric powered equipment used by live musicians shall pass through an RCD. 3. Where facilities for dancing are provided they shall include an adequate and suitable dance floor. 4. This licence shall not become effective until such time as the reasonable requirements of building control, the fire service, environmental health department and the police have been complied with. No licensable activities will take place under the authority of the licence until the premises have been inspected by the relevant authorities and the licence holder has been notified that the premises are suitable. 5. The premises shall operate under a recognised proof of age scheme. Any students who are under 18 years of age shall be issued with a distinctive identity card recording that fact. 6. Save for access and egress all doors and windows shall be closed when licensable activities are present in the premises. 7. The premises licence holder shall prominently display A5 notices on all exits reminding patrons to leave the premises in a quiet and orderly fashion and to respect the needs of local neighbours and site residents. 8a. Noise (including from vibration) from licensable activities within the premises shall be inaudible at the nearest noise sensitive property outside The Ridge, Ranmoor Student Village. For the purposes of this condition noise will be considered to be inaudible when it is at a sufficiently low level such that is not recognisable as emanating from the source in question and it does not alter the perception of the ambient noise environment that would prevail in the absence of the source in question. 8b. The licence holder must take a proactive approach to noise control checking outside the premises to ensure that noise is inaudible at the nearest noise sensitive property outside the Ranmoor Student Village. 9. All Ventilation outlets that serve the licensed area are to be installed with acoustic baffles and thereafter retained. 10. No amplified sound shall be played except through an in-house amplified sound system fitted with a sound limiter. The settings of which shall have received the prior written approval of the Environmental Protection Service. 11a. The premises shall have in place a written noise management plan which shall have the prior written approval of the Environmental Protection Service. The plan shall be revised and where necessary updated within three months of this licence coming into force and thereafter annually. Any update shall include a prior consultation with the University Community Forum (or its equivalent), such forum to include where reasonably possible representatives of BANG, REACT and the Broomhill Forum (or their equivalent). The consultation shall seek to reach agreement on the contents of the plan. 11b. The plan shall include contact details for one contact point responsible for receiving and actioning noise complaints, which shall be contactable during all hours that licensable activities are provided at the premises. The licence holder shall update the Environmental Protection Service every 3 months on any complaints received that are shown to be relating to licensable activities at the premises. 11c. The plan shall specifically address policies or management of the following noise:- i. Noise from persons in external licensed areas of the Ridge. ii. Supervision of dispersal of persons leaving the venue in the immediate vicinity of the Ridge. iii. External machinery and equipment including temporary equipment and audio equipment to be used in the external licensed area. iv. Noise from arrival and dispersal of customers and staff in the immediate vicinity of the Ridge. v. Prevention of other forms of noise distribution, including rubbish removal and glass collection. 11d. The plan shall be available and known to the management of the premises. 11e. A register of all complaints received in accordance with this condition shall be kept. Subject to the provisions of current legislation including the Data Protection Act the register shall be made available to the responsible authorities and information to individual complainants in relation to their own complaints. A summary of the complaints register will be provided to the University Community Forum (or its equivalent), such forum to include where reasonably possible representatives of BANG, REACT and the Broomhill Forum (or their equivalent). The register shall include the date and time of complaint, the person receiving the complaint, details of the complainant and the action taken. 12. Marketing for the Ridge will not be targeted at students who are not residents of Ranmoor Student Village. Posters advertising events will not be displayed outside Ranmoor Student Village. Ticketed events will be restricted to residents of Ranmoor Student Village and guests. 13. No amplified music shall be played in the external area, and no regulated entertainment shall take place in the external area after 22:00 hours. The licence-holder shall give the Environmental Health Department not less than 28 days notice of any regulated entertainment taking place in the external area. 14. On any occasion when late night refreshment is provided and alcohol is sold, the provision of late night refreshment shall cease at the same time as the sale of alcohol or regulated entertainment, whichever is later. 15. The premises shall be covered by a colour CCTV system and shall be operated at the premises to the specification and satisfaction of the South Yorkshire Police and will be maintained and in use at all times the premises are open. The CCTV images in respect of the licensed area will be retained for a minimum of 28 days. These must be made available to an authorised officer of the council on the production of appropriate written authorisation. The Police will be given access to and may take custody of the images or take copies of the images for purposes in connection with the prevention of crime and disorder. 16. There shall at all times when the premises are open for licensable activities be a person nominated by the premises licence holder to take charge of the premises and have written authority to stop any licensable activities. 17. There shall be at least one personal licence holder on duty at the premises from 19:00 hours whenever alcohol is sold. 18a. The premises licence holder will erect signs at the entrance to the premises to state that there shall be no admission to the premises for new patrons after 23:00 hours on a Thursday and 24:00 on a Friday and Saturday. 18b. The premises may carry out licensable activities until 24:00 hours and remain open to the public until 00:30 hours the following day on a Sunday to Wednesday during Intro Week and for pre-booked external conferences taking place outside term time. 19. There shall be a maximum occupancy of the ground floor bar of 250 persons. 20. The premises licence holder shall ensure that at least four times per year there is the opportunity for effective liaison with residents groups, including BANG, REACT and the Broomhill Forum (or their equivalent) to discuss issues relating the use of the premises for licensable activities.
